Starpoint Gemini 2 contains elements of various types of games. It is a combination of a strategy taking place in space with an RPG game and a spaceship simulator. The creators of Starpoint Gemini 2 are the independent Croatian studio Little Green Men Games, known for the well-received first part of the series.
Story
The action of Starpoint Gemini 2 takes place in a star system created by the authors called Gemini, torn by numerous conflicts and hiding a lot of secrets. The story told in the game is a continuation of the events presented in the first part. The story focuses on the conflict between the Empire ruling in the Gemini System and the rebels fighting against it, associated in the Gemini League.
Gameplay
The gameplay itself is all about freely traversing the Gemini System, divided into different regions, each with its own graphic style and different challenges awaiting the player. This aspect is related to the two most significant novelties in relation to the first part of the cycle - now the player can independently control the spaceship in full 3D, and the game area is fully accessible, so that we will never see the loading screen during the game. The player-controlled character gains experience as the game progresses, thanks to which, in line with the RPG mechanics used in Starpoint Gemini 2 , he discovers new skills and collects achievements. In addition to the story campaign, the player also has randomly created side missions that can be performed while controlling one of over 50 types of spacecraft, with the possibility of upgrading them and equipping them with an extensive arsenal. During the game, we also meet more than 50 different factions taking part in the events presented by the creators.
