Might & Magic: Heroes VII is the seventh major installment in the cult series of fantasy turn-based strategies. Like the two previous editions, the seven was created under the auspices of Ubisoft, but the task of producing the game was once again entrusted to a new developer. This time it fell on the German studio Limbic Entertainment, a team that previously developed add-ons for Might & Magic: Heroes VI and the RPG Might & Magic X: Legacy set in the same universe. The story told by Might & Magic: Heroes VII takes place ten years after the events of Heroes of Might and Magic V, and its centerpiece is the civil war for the throne of the Empire. The campaign focuses on a young Gryffindor prince named Ivan, who created the so-called Shadow Council, bringing together representatives of six factions. To help the hero achieve victory, advisers tell him stories about the past history of their peoples - presented in the form of separate campaigns to go through. Thanks to this solution, the story mode has a very non-linear structure. Might & Magic: Heroes VII offers six playable factions. These included Haven, Academy, Stronghold, Necropolis, Sylvan, and Dungeons (the last two were chosen by players in an online voting). The basic mechanisms of the game were based on the solutions from the previous parts. The game is therefore a mix of turn-based strategy with RPG elements. While playing, we explore vast maps, collect resources and expand our cities.
