As they progress, the protagonists gain new abilities, which allows them to deal with increasingly sophisticated problems. Prince Selius’ nightmarish story Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince's story revolves around the eponymous prince. Young Selius was plagued by nightmares, and his magical power made the monsters appearing in them penetrate into the real world, where they wreak real havoc. To make matters worse, the prince disappeared without a trace under mysterious circumstances. The task of dealing with this problem rests on the shoulders of three well-known heroes, i.e. the mage Amadeus, the thief Zoya and the knight Pontius. Reception Trine 4 received favorable opinions of the critics. In their reviews, they mentioned the audiovisual side of the game as one of its best components.
