Bone glue is used to seal the canvas before the gesso (primer) is applied. Bone glue can also be used as a binder for pigments, but we recommend knowing the material before experimenting with pigment and bone glue. Bone glue gives a patinated look to objects - apply with a brush and remove excess with a clean cotton cloth. Then leave to dry for at least 12 hours. Application: Soak the bone glue in water for about 24 hours, then melt it in a water bath so that it does not exceed 100°C, which it cannot tolerate. The leg adhesive should be used warm.
