DAPSY (Austrian-Hungarian Workshop on Distributed and Parallel Systems) is an international conference series with biannual events dedicated to all aspects of distributed and parallel computing. DAPSY started under a different name in 1992 (Sopron, Hungary) as regional meeting of Austrian and Hungarian researchers focusing on transputer-related parallel computing; a hot research topic of that time. A second workshop followed in 1994 (Budapest, Hungary). As transputers became history, the scope of the workshop widened to include parallel and distributed systems in general and the 1st DAPSYS in 1996 (Miskolc, Hungary) reflected the results of these changes. Distributed and Parallel Systems: Cluster and Grid Computing is an edited volume based on DAPSYS, 2004, the 5th Austrian-Hungarian Workshop on Distributed and Parallel Systems. The workshop was held in conjunction with EuroPVM/MPI-2004, Budapest, Hungary September 19-22, 2004.

The phenomenon of bleeding has been shown to appear in up to 22% of all pregnancies and is associated with significant maternal and fetal morbidities, and even mortality. Although vaginal bleeding occurs mainly during the first trimester, it can appear at any stage of pregnancy and in the postpartum period. This sometimes life-threatening event requires an extensive work-up in order to recognize its cause and establish a rapid and effective therapeutic approach. This book is a comprehensive appraisal of this critical condition. It draws on evidence-based data and brings together, in a single volume, updated information on all aspects of pregnancy-related bleeding. A global group of interdisciplinary experts contributed chapters on: bleeding during early pregnancy (early pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease, and cancer of the reproductive tract during pregnancy); bleeding in late pregnancy (preterm delivery, placental abruption, placenta previa, vasa previa and uterine rupture); and postpartum hemorrhage.

The rapid development of this field has resulted in thousands of publications in the literature regarding immunocytochemistry in diagnostic pathology. This explosion of knowledge makes necessary publications summarizing what are the main markers available and how they can be used in the diagnosis of tumors. The need of a more organized and structured knowledge was evident during the workshop in Immunocytochemistry of Tumor Diagnosis that took place in the City of Detroit an October 1984. This book is the result of that workshop in which 22 chapters are focusing an the main subject of differential diagnosis of tumors.
