\These poems were written during a time where my family had suffered the greatest loss of my entire 46 years. My closest cousin had been murdered during a domestic dispute. During my grief I was faced with a ton of unresolved acute childhood trauma, horrific flashbacks, and learning to accept and deal with all of it as it presented itself to me. I had also ended a 10- and 1/2-year relationship 2 mos. before my cousin's death, as well as started a new relationship which proved to only add new trauma..
