Micro satin nature

Micro Satin - the satin with the soft drapeThere are many different grades of satin. This 100% polyester micro satin stands out for its beautiful, extra soft and natural drape, perfect for those who sew satin tops and dresses and want to utilise the soft drape in their designs. The satin has the familiar glossy front and matt back and is available in many colour nuances. Satin for your next creative ideaMicro Satin is suitable for both clothes and bags. Maybe you want to sew a simple and elegant party dress or create beautiful draping with a cool matching clutch? The only limit is your imagination. The fabric is 145 cm wide and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 40°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Satin weaves are not very forgiving when it comes to needle marks. A good way to avoid damage is to start with a fresh needle, as a damaged needle is more likely to stick to the fabric and leave marks. Also, use extra fine pins in the seam allowance to minimise holes. It is 145 cm wide and you can choose the number of meters you need for your project. This is durable, soft and 100 % natural, high-quality thread made of Egyptian cotton, which you can use for hand-sewn and machine-sewn projects. The thread is mercerised – i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is softer and glossier. For great results, use it in all your projects. The mercerisation process ensures that cotton thread shrinks less and therefore keeps its shape better.  Our cotton thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

Strong and luxurious quilting thread, made of 100 % Egyptian cotton. It is mercerised, i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is soft and glossy. This ensures that you can achieve a really nice finish when quilting or doing patchwork. It is a good idea to wax the thread with paraffin wax (item number 41031). Waxing ensures that the thread glides more easily through the fabric, e.g. when you quilt by hand. Our quilting thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

It opens up a range of exciting DIY possibilities from clothing to home decor. What should I use micro fleece for?With micro fleece, you can dial down the classic fleece look without having to compromise on all of the familiar qualities: the fabric is still soft, lightweight and stretchy. It insulates well and has been given an anti-pilling treatment meaning that it's virtually lint-free. Furthermore it's tough and dries quickly. Use the fabric for a comfy fleece jacket or vest, for example, where the heat-insulating effect really comes in handy on cold days. Or make a cool loungewear set in your favourite colour. You can also use micro fleece in furnishings for blankets (where you don't even need to sew on a border) and cushions. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. Practical information about fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need.
