Patol DTB25 PVC Dirt Trap Box 6900285PThe PVC Dirt Trap Box is used as an accessory part for an Aspirating Smoke Detector in areas with high dust content to prevent false alarms and to increase the lifespan of the smoke sensors substantially.When using the dust trap we generally recommend the combination with the large or extra-large filter-box.Due to the Dirt Trap Box design dust particles are deposited on the bottom due to gravity. Smoke particles pass through the Dirt Trap Box unhindered to the small size of the particles. Reliable and fast fire detection is thus ensured.The air polluted with dust particles is also aspirated by the aspirating smoke detector. So that these particles do not cause any false alarms the aspirated air must be purified of these particles.The Dirt Trap Box can be used for this purpose as an additional accessory component. This is then to be arranged in front of the filter-box in the suction pipe see project planning notice.The aspirated air reaches the Dirt Trap Box via the entry opening underneath. En-route to the exit opening above the air is separated from most of the dust particles which are deposited on the bottom of the chamber due to gravity. As the sensor is tuned to this band it is solar blind meaning the background and transient IR spectra are discriminated. This provides enhanced false alarm immunity.Air purging from a mains operated Air Purged Blower APB air feed is used to maintain a positive air pressure in the sensor enclosure and ensures the prevention of dust settling on the sensor window. The air supply is monitored by a pressure switch which on air failure is signalled as a fault status.The 5730 incorporates within the unit a series of user programmable DIL switches. A series of user programmable DIL switches allows option selection including detector sensitivity settings automanual reset sequence selection and single coincidence voting from the four individual internal detection channels for the alarm trip and shutdown outputs.The Sensor Unit is located above the materials transit path e.g. conveyor by means of the adjustable mounting bracket and aligned such that the monitored hazard passes through the sensors field of view. The height and angle of the sensor determine the width of the monitored path.The Type 5020 Control Unit provides various indications and controls related to infra-red detection alarms and fault monitoring.The control module is easily de-mountable from the housing and connects to the sensor by means of a ten core screened shielded cable. These terminations together with supply and output contact connections are via two part screw terminals thus enabling installation of the housing and site cables prior to fitment of the module. The housing has a high level of ingress protection IP67.The unit incorporates a user programmable DIL switch to set the options which include detector sensitivity setting automanual reset sequence selection and one-shot coincidence voting for the alarm and tripshutdown outputs.The sensor air pressure and signal cable connections are fault monitoredfail safe.
