The knife is now securely in place. To remove the knife, insert the wooden stick again and pull it out. Always make sure to cut away from yourself as the knives can be sharp. What you need for linocut printingIn addition to a linoleum knife, you will need:PencilPaper, PAP FAB, or fabricLinoleum sheets (item number 95700 and 95701)Linoleum roller (item number 95705)Linoleum ink (item number 95702)Linoleum cutting mat (item number 95703 and 95704)Protective paper or cardboardHow to make linocut printsDraw your design with a pencil on a linoleum sheet (printing plate).Either cut out the line or the background behind the line with a linoleum knife. It's recommended to use a cutting mat and always cut away from yourself. The knife can be sharp - so adults should also assist children with this.Roll out linoleum ink on a clean painter's tray in a smooth, thin layer with a linoleum roller, and roll the color onto the printing plate. Roll back and forth in different directions from edge to edge of the printing plate.Place paper, PAP FAB, or fabric on top of the printing plate, and place a piece of protective paper or cardboard on top. Roll back and forth with the cleaned linoleum roller on top of the protective paper. Change direction and roll from edge to edge to evenly distribute the color.Remove the protective paper, gently lift the printing paper off the printing plate, and let it dry. Now you have an amazing design!Clean the linoleum roller in lukewarm water and dry it off.
