12 is Better Than 6 is a dynamic 2D shooter with stealth elements. The game was developed by a small Russian studio, Ink Stains Games. Interestingly, the name comes from the saying, "It is better to be judged by the twelve than carried by the six." It refers to the number of jurors in US courts and the six people who carried the coffin to the funeral.
The hot summer of 1873. The escaped prisoner is now devising a route he will have to cover to get from his native Mexico to faraway Texas. The road passes through Austin, San Antonio, Albuquerque, and Houston. Dilapidating saloons, breathtaking towns, expensive cabarets, Indian areas, caravans ... Everywhere he is only mocking, hostile faces, suspicions, bounty hunters lurking on his head and swarms of hot lead. However, he is not going to owe anyone, and his hand is extremely quick. One thing he's sure about: they won't take him alive.
The production mechanics are somewhat reminiscent of the Hotline Miami series, but they have been translated into the Wild West in an interesting way. Aiming is done with the mouse and should not be a problem for the seasoned player. The real fun begins with shooting, because before each firing from the six-shooter, the gunslinger has to tighten the hammer with a different button, remember about the limited number of bullets and manually reload the cartridges one at a time. Other elements of the arsenal also have their own secrets of operation, which must be remembered - for example, the bow needs to be tightened first, the shotgun will massacre people up close, but only two at a time, and the Gatling gun takes time to get started.
A surprisingly large number of people are waiting for our Mexican. In the following levels prepared by the authors, we visit quite a variety of locations, where we deal with Indians, cowboys, miners, bandits and other scum. There are several ways to approach each challenge. Of course, parrying into other rooms, firing relentlessly and throwing dynamite is one of them. However, if the chances are not very even (which happens very often), it is also worth slitting a few throats silently, walking around the building in search of another entrance, and even hiding behind the outhouse door to get the unsuspecting gringo. The game gives the hero full freedom to deal with enemies, but you have to be careful - one shot often ends in death and the forced repetition of the level.
