The Nightingale figurine is inspired by H.c. Andersen’s famous fairy tale of the same name. The fairy tale was published in 1843 and is about a nightingale whose song enchanted the Emperor. When the Emperor receives a mechanical nightingale, he forgets about the real nightingale which then flies away. When the emperor becomes terminally ill, the nightingale returns and heals the Emperor through it’s beautiful song.
