Glendalough Wild Rose Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Rose Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Rose Irish Gin Created by a group of friends who came from County Wicklow and Dublin, The Glendalough Distilley was born of a passion to revive the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. Glendalough itself is one of the most picturesque and visited valleys in Ireland. It is situated in County Wicklow, just south of Dublin within the Wicklow mountains. Fun Fact: The monk with his arms raised, seen on all Glendalough's bottles, is St. Kevin of Glendalough. An Irish legend, originally born of Irish Royalty who was said to have lived over 1400 years ago.  Whilst most pink gins are sweet, and flavoured with fruit - this is a true Rose gin, full of floral flavours. It was created to honour the memory of Glendalough Distillery's head distiller's mum, Rose, who had passed away. For his little brothers wedding, this gin was created - which allowed her to be there in spirit (literally!). The roses for this gin come from her old rose garden. These are distilled slowly, using vapor distillation along with wild roses, and other botanicals found around the wicklow mountains around the distillery. After this distillation process, the gin is then further infused with more roses to enhance and deepen the flavour, as well as imparting the natural pink hue. The finished result is truly a floral fuelled gin, which has a depth and complexity to it. The rose flavours are imparted both in the aroma as well as the flavour, and whilst joined with more common gin flavours, including juniper, it's definitely the rose which is the star of this gin! More from Glendalough Perfect Serve This can easily be enjoyed with a neutral tonic, such as Fentimans Connoiseurs Tonic. However, to enhance the gin and add a delicate sweetness, try with Fentimans Rose Lemonade. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen mixer and stir gently. Garnish with an edible rose petal, or a thin slice of strawberry

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin Created by a group of friends who came from County Wicklow and Dublin, The Glendalough Distilley was born of a passion to revive the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. It is the beauty, and bounty of County Wicklow which inspired their Wild Botanical Gin. For each distillation the distillery's full time forager goes into mountains around the distillery. They harvest sustainably - ensuring they do not over-forage. Then, what is picked is put into the still within a few hours ensuring the oils, fragrances and flavours are captured. For this reason, each small batch of 250 litres will taste slightly different. The result is a deliciously fragrant gin has grapefruit and pine from the juniper. Hints of heather and rose petals also come through. Overall this is a fresh and vibrant gin.  The distillery believe that "With each taste, this gin transports you to a place and time in our home - the Wicklow Mountains." More from Glendalough Perfect Serve This can easily be enjoyed with a neutral tonic, such as Three Cents Tonic Water. However any quality neutral tonic will work well. For something a little different, this also works well with their Aegean Tonic Water. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish simply with a few juniper berries. This also works perfect in the mix - how about trying a Bee's Knees Cocktail?
