Gustav Blueberry Vodka The story behind Lignell & Piispanen (the creators of the Gustav range of spirits) goes back to 1852. A family run business from then until today, it was started by Gustav Ranin when he purchases the Crown Distillery (itself founded in 1783) situated in the city of Kuopio (around 400km north-east of Helsinki) in Finland. Right from their beginnings, the company has taken inspiration from the pristine forests and marshlands of their region. They handpick the berries and plants from this region, which are the pure raw materials used within their Gustav Spirits. Their 170+ year history, attention to detail, and flavours found in their pristine landscape come together to create their delicious Gustav Spirits. It was Gustav Ranin himself who originally set about making vodka - and he wanted to ensure a true artisinal product. For their blueberry vodka, they use wheat, arctic water and only wild forest blueberries in its creation. This ensures a clean and crisp flavour, which has delicate bluberry aromas and flavours.
