The Stillery's Dutch North Sea Gin 50cl

The Stillery's Dutch North Sea Gin 50cl

The Stillery's Dutch North Sea Gin Dutch North Sea Gin is a new creation from the guys at The Stillery. This gin is very fresh and often omits the bitter notes that you normally find in a gin. After the success of their local flower-inspired Most Floral Gin, it was time for a new gin. For this gin they left the country and traveled to the Dutch North Sea in search of special flavors and ingredients. The Dutch North Sea gin from Stillery is therefore completely inspired by ingredients from the Dutch North Sea and coast. Local but slightly different. For example, sawn sea oak, raspberry leaves, blackberry leaves and sea buckthorn are used in the gin. Each and every one of them intriguing ingredients from the Dutch coast, which give the gin a very fresh taste and often omit the bitter notes. This gin has one foot in the surf and the other in the dunes. A place has also been made for the invasive seaweed variety Japanese berry weed. This seaweed has the ability to completely take over ecosystems by growing incredibly fast, up to 10cm per day! This ensures that everything that lives under the Japanese berry weed gets less or almost no sunlight. Fortunately, The Stillery has taken over the Japanese berry weed by getting it from the North Sea, distilling it and then processing it into the gin. More from The Stillery Perfect Serve For a refreshing G&T, add ice to a glass and add 50ml of Dutch North Sea Gin. Top up with 150-200ml of tonic water and enjoy.

Gustav Arctic Cloudberry Liqueur 50cl

Gustav Arctic Cloudberry Liqueur 50cl

Gustav Arctic Cloudberry Liqueur The story behind Lignell & Piispanen (the creators of the Gustav range of spirits) goes back to 1852. A family run business from then until today, it was started by Gustav Ranin when he purchases the Crown Distillery (itself founded in 1783) situated in the city of Kuopio (around 400km north-east of Helsinki) in Finland.  Right from their beginnings, the company has taken inspiration from the pristine forests and marshlands of their region. They handpick the berries and plants from this region, which are the pure raw materials within Gustav Spirits.  Their 170+ year history, attention to detail, and flavours found in their pristine landscape come together to create their delicious Gustav Spirits. The cloudberry is found around the northern hemisphere, in the North of Russia, the Nordic countries, Canada, Greenland and the north of America. It is an amber coloured fruit and quite sour in flavour. When sugar is added it has a flavour which is something like a cross between raspberries, blackberries and redcurrants. Making their golden coloured Cloudberry liqueur, Gustav use real cloudberries and sugar. It has a rich berry aroma, and a deliciously sweet berry flavour.  More from Gustav Perfect Serve This is delicious served with soda water, making a fresh and fruity longer drink. It can also be added to, vodka or gin, and a neutral soda, lemonade or tonic water for something a little different.

44°N Gin 50cl

44°N Gin 50cl

44°N Gin Created to capture the "luminous depth of the sea and the windswept aromas of the Mediterranean in every drop", this is an ultra premium French gin. Named after the geographic location of its producer Comte de Grasse (literally Count of Grasse), it is situated just north of Cannes and west of Nice - in the Cote d’Azur, Southern France They utilise as many locally sourced botanicals as possible, Bitter Orange, Cade, Mimosa, Centifolia and Immortelle to ensure they capture the spirit of the area.  The flavour remains true to its mediterranean roots as well, with a floral body from hints of Grasse’s Rose Centifolia and bright jasmine. There is a touch of jam like sweetness through the bitter orange which is expertly countered with a herbaceous punch of Angelica and Samphire. A little warmth from a touch of pepper greets you throughour the drink. This doesn't overpower though, rather enhacing the other botanicals bringing them to life. The finish benefits deliciously from Orris and honey which ensure a sweet yet musky long-lasting effect on the tongue. These blend perfectly with the floral and citrus notes, all mingling perfectly together. Perfect Serve With a multitude of flavours within the drink, this works perfectly with a neutral tonic like Fever-Tree Indian Tonic. However, this also works particularly well with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, which adds a little more sweetness to the gin and tonic. With either tonic, we recommend 50ml of gin to 100 - 150ml of the tonic. With this gin, just plenty of ice and a large glass is needed. No garnish necessary as the gin really speaks for itself!

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin (Ceramic Bottle) 70cl

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin (Ceramic Bottle) 70cl

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin (Ceramic Bottle) Created at the edge of a lake, in a small Irish town called Drumshanbo (from where the gin gets it's name). It's here you will find The Shed Distillery. This is a gin which is far from ordinary, they slow-distil their gin using some of natures finest oriental botanicals, along with gunpowder tea. The bottle itself hints at the creativity behind this gin. Showing the Jackalope, a creature of mystery and wonder. It is the mythological progeny of a jackrabbit, and an antelope. Apparently conceived during a lightning storm - the Jackalope appears in Drumshanbo at will.... like a dream. There one minute, gone the next in a flurry of feet and antlers. Drumshanbo is about bringing together previously unrelated things, for the first time - but likely not the last. Seeing possibilities in the unusual. Its for this reason the Jackalope has become the symbol of the remarkable Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. A whole range of botanicals are used in the creation of this gin, inspired by the travels of PJ Rigney, the Master Distiller. Using juniper, coriander, star anise, orris carrot, chinese lemon, grapefruit, kafir lime and (as the name suggests) gunpowder tea. The gunpowder tea is a green tea which has been slowly dried, and gives a bold, bright and slightly spiced freshness to the gin. The nose on this gin is refreshingly light, and citrus-forward. There is a citrus zest note which blends with herbaceous juniper, as well as a little juniper. On the palate this is a blast! It explodes with flavours, with citrus dominating. Grapefruit really shines through here. Mid palate the juniper and tea come through, along with a bright note from juniper. The gin finishes quieter, slightly sweet with herbal notes. Anise, cardamom are subtle, and lead into meadowsweet - which lends a delicate honey vanilla nuance.  Whilst this has a rather eccentric blend of botanicals, they all work exceptionally well together, and the gin is a very balanced one. Read more about The Shed Distillery Perfect Serve For the Drumshanbo Signature serve, Take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of Gunpowder Gin, and add 150 - 200ml of a premium neutral tonic. Stir gently and garnish with a wedge of pink grapefruit.

Unicum Riserva 70cl

Unicum Riserva 70cl

Unicum Riserva One of the oldest herbal liqueurs to be found in Europe, the original Unicum Zwack recipe comprises over 40 different herbs. Most of these are sourced from within the Carpathian basin, but some are also imported from all over the world (Morocco, China, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nigeria, the Americas and even Australia). Its history dates back over 230 years to 1790, and the recipe has remained the same over this time, and is a closely guarded secret of the six generations of the Zwack family who have been producing it in Hungary.  Interesting fact: The name Unicum is said to originate from the words of the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II who was given the drink in 1790. He apparently said "Das ist ein Unikum!" (This is unique). For their Riserva edition, the original Zwack Unicum is double aged. The first ageing is done in 80 year old traditional casks. This adds additional depth and character to the liqueur. The second ageing is done in barrels which previously aged Tokaji Aszu wines. (This wine is a honey sweet, dessert wine, which comes from North East Hungary). This second ageing mellows the liqueur, and adds delicious notes of winter spices and fruit aromas. The process doesn't finish there though. To finish this exquisite drink, the final stage includes blending the liqueur with Dobogo Winery’s Tokaji Aszu. This creates an enticing harmony between the herbal liqueur and the sweet honey flavours of the Tokaji. More from Unicum Perfect Serve This drink works perfectly as an aperitif, to whet your appetite before a meal. However we found its sweetness lent it more towards an after dinner digestif. However you enjoy it, this is a delicious taste of Hungary.

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin 70cl

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin 70cl

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin It is the location in the North West of England, The Lake District National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which gives this distillery it's name. This is an area of oustanding natural beauty, and over the centuries has inspired poets, artists, novelists, sculptors - and now distillers. Having worked in the Scotch Whisky industry for many years, Paul Currie used to take family holidays in the Lake District. With whisky in his veins, he felt there was an opportunity for a distillery in the Lakes. The area had all the requirements: water, land, old farm buildings suitable for conversion, potential visitor numbers; but most importantly it felt right..... and so they began distilling premium spirits. For their gins, they infuse their unique botanical blend with the best British wheat alcohol, as well as pure water from the Lake District in which they are located. Juniper, coriander and angelica provide their flavour cornerstones. Orris root, cassia bark and liquorice offer complementary flavours with orange and lemon peel enhancing the gin’s citrus notes. In this edition they also add a good quantity of Pink Grapefruit, which enhances the citrus notes further. On the nose this has a bright, fresh and zesty aroma of grapefruit - which is complimented by piney juniper and a hint of coriander. On the palate the zesty pink grapefruit comes through perfectly. The background brings in the crisp juniper, and black pepper before leaving a smooth and defined citrus finish More from The Lakes Distillery Perfect Serve This makes a deliciously refreshing Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic (any quality tonic will work, but we like this with East Imperial Tonic Water). Stir gently and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin 70cl

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin 70cl

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin Whilst they may be better known for their world class beer, Brewdog have also had great success since launching their range of spirits. With their gins they felt the majority of gins had become mainstream. In their words: "Dainty botanicals and floral nonsense are the norm, and they’re masking all kinds of sins." They start by creating their own Abstrakt Vodka which is used as the base spirit for their gins. They do this to ensure the quality of the spirit from start to finish. They then go big and bold with their flavours (using up to 5 times the amount of juniper typical in craft gins) crafting their gin in the world’s first triple bubble copper-pot still. This is done at their distillery in Aberdeenshire (in North Scotland).  Good to know: Every bottle of gin created is carbon neutral Their gins are created with big, bold flavours using their bespoke copper pot stills. Like the wolf from which they took inspiration with their gins, each is wildly different. Made in Scotland, they use a unique blend of botanicals to create some something uniquely different in each bottle.  In their Bramble and Raspberry gin, Lonewolf have created a gin which is positively bursting with notes of freshly harvested berries. This is truly a feast for the taste buds, with ripe and juicy fruit flavours dancing over your tongue. Whilst their signature Tuscan Juniper remains strong, the rich jammy raspberries perfectly blend creating something unique. More from Brewdog Perfect Serve For a delicious Gin & Tonic take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic (we like Franklin & Sons Light Tonic for this). Stir gently and garnish with a wedge of lime and some raspberries (fresh or dried).

Schouten Clarity No.1 London Dry Gin 70cl

Schouten Clarity No.1 London Dry Gin 70cl

Schouten Clarity No.1 London Dry Gin "De mooiste momenten in het leven zijn momenten van verbinding. Die verbinding kan ontstaan door een verhaal met elkaar te delen of er samen één te creëren. Cheers!" - Joyce en Erwin Schouten "The most beautiful moments in life are moments of connection. That connection can be created by sharing a story with each other or create one together. Cheers!" When initially starting work on creating the distillery (which is based in Veghel, North Brabant), they had a moment of clarity. This was when the plans and ideas for their distillery came together. "We're going to make booze that we'd love to share with our friends.". This moment of clarity gave their first gin, a London Dry its name. This is a gin which is packed full of flavour, and very powerful. Certainly not for everyone, but if you're a fan of full on flavours and a drink which truly packs a flavourful punch then this is one for you. The botanicals they use are juniper berries, coriander, cardamom, orris root, angelica root, hibiscus, cinnamon, clove, maniguette, pepper, orange, lemon, ginger The nose and palate of this gin certainly complement each other well, and there is an excellent balance between its aroma and taste. It starts with floral notes, as well as the classic pine of juniper. These transition into a warm earthy spice and a hint of sweetness. The finish is spicy and perfectly dry.  More from Schouten Perfect Serve We love this as a classic gin & tonic. It has strong flavours of its own, so whilst it would stand up to a flavoured tonic - we like it neutral, and allow the gin to 'speak'. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a thin slice of orange.

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 50cl

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 50cl

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 Hernö is the first dedicated gin distillery in Sweden, and is located in Dala on the high coast of Sweden. They only produce organic, artisanal gins, which are inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden. In 2016 Hernö launched their High Coast Terroir series. Each year they select different botanicals sourced from the High Coast of Sweden (to the north of Stockholm, on the Gulf of Bothnia).  For their 2018 edition, they differed their base spirit as well as the botanicals chosen. In this edition their bases partially comes from a malt base produced by one of their neighbours, the Lockeby Brewery. The botanicals from the High Coast that they used in this edition are: Elderflower, Juniper, Rowan Berries and Spruce Shoots. The resulting gin offers an aroma which is crisp, with the juniper coming through first, followed by an array of floral notes. There is a base note from the malt, and fresh citrus tones. On the palate there is a definite floral complexity, which blends with the juniper, somewhat softening it. The rowan lends a freshness to it. As the flavours develop in the mouth the elderflower comes forward, with a little warmth with peppery notes. The spruce adds a gentle sweetness. Overall this is a pleasure on the taste buds, with the flavours being balanced perfectly. More from Hernö Perfect Serve This is truly a special gin, and one we highly recommend enjoyed as it was designed to be. Take a rocks glass and add a large ice cube, and complete with 50ml of the gin. No garnish needed with this one!  However if you like your drinks longer, it makes an equally delicious Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic (we liked this with East Imperial Tonic Water). Garnish with a few juniper berries.

Gustav Metsä Gin 50cl

Gustav Metsä Gin 50cl

Gustav Metsä Gin The story behind Lignell & Piispanen (the creators of the Gustav range of spirits) goes back to 1852. They handpick the berries and plants from this region, which are the pure raw materials used within their Gustav Spirits.  Their 170+ year history, attention to detail, and flavours found in their pristine landscape come together to create their delicious Gustav Spirits. Their Metsä Gin is made predominantly with botanicals harvested from the Nordic fields and forests. These are Juniper berries, lingonberries, birch leaves, spruce tips, nettles, dandelion root, as well as basil and coriander. These are then aroma distilled delicately by hand to ensure the delicate botanicals are captured in the gin. This 'forest to glass' philosophy ensures this is a true homage to the Finnish forests. The aroma captures the botanicals perfectly, with the piney juniper and hints of spice coming through. The flavours are compled, and capture the juniper perfectly with its citrus spice coming through. Herbal notes continue, joined by cardamom and leave a defined freshness on the palate as the flavours fade. More from Gustav Perfect Serve This can easily be enjoyed as a refreshing shot - and we'd recommend serving straight from the freezer if doing this. For a longer, classic Gin & Tonic, take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic (any neutral tonic will work - but we like it best with Three Cents Tonic Water), and stir gently. Garnish with a slice of orange and a few juniper berries.
