Chivas Regal 12 Year Whisky (Mini) 5cl

Chivas Regal 12 Year Whisky (Mini) 5cl

Chivas Regal 12 Years Whisky Produced by Chivas Brothers (which is owned by Pernod Ricard) at the Strathisla distillery in Keith, Moray in Speyside (Scotland, UK). This distillery was founded in 1786, and is the oldest continuously operating Highland distillery. Their 12 Years Aged Whisky is a blended Scotch Whisky, and the market-leader in the 12 year and over aged whisky category in Europe and Asia Pacific. It's made of a blend of malt and grain scotch whiskies and is their signature blend. It was also the first in the family of Chivas whiskies to have been released after prohibition. Known and loved flavours which are iconic in the Speyside region are at the heart of this whisky. Wild heather, sweet honey and crisp orchard fruits are the result of years of experience from the master blenders. This taste has been maintained since the pioneers of blended Scotch whisky (the founders of Chivas Regal, John and James Chivas) first started blending. Within the blend itself you will find the finest mail and grain whiskies. Strathisla single malt, Strathclyde single grain and yet more are blended to create a whisky known for its smoothness. A variety of different casks are also sourced for the maturation of the 12-year-old whiskies, again - ensuring the quality. On the nose this whisky gives the signature aromas, and is particularly aromatic. Wild herbs, heather, honey and orchard fruits all greet the nose. On the palate, this is rich, round and deliciously creamy. Honey and ripe pears come through, and are also joined by vanilla, hazelnuts and even butterscotch. The finish lingers and is particularly rich. As Chivas say.... 'Because blended is better, in life and in Scotch'. Read more about Chivas Regal Perfect Serve Whilst this can be enjoyed neat, a longer option can be really refreshing. For a classic Scotch & Soda, take a highball glass and add 50ml of the Chivas. Add 100ml of Fever-Tree Soda Water, and then carefully fill the glass with ice. Top up the glass with soda, and give a small stir to mix. Garnish with a slice of orange. This can also work with a ginger ale, swap out the soda for Fever-Tree Ginger Ale.

J&B Rare Whisky (Mini) 5cl

Gin 1689 Dutch Dry Gin (Mini) 5cl

Gin 1689 Dutch Dry Gin (Mini) 5cl

Gin 1689 This gin is based on an original recipe (from 1689.... hence the name!), by the Dutch William of Orange after he was proclaimed King of England, Ireland and Scotland in 1689. Through painstaking research in the Royal British Library's rare book section, this recipe came to light after being found in the rare books archive. The recipe detailed the original ingredients, but unfortunately the quantities were concealed by code, which to date has not been broken! Not to be deterred, the rights of the recipe were acquired, and a perfect partner found to recreate the delicate flavours of the original gin: Herman Jansen. One of the Netherlands finest distillers, the distillery was founded in 1777 and based in the Dutch Gin & Genever capital Schiedam. Through trial and error, today's recipe was perfected and finalised. The original ingredients from 350 years ago are used, with Gin 1689 beautifully combining juniper with dried quince and pippin (an ancient apple variety), lemon and orange peel, nutmeg, aniseed and clove. It's quite fruity on the nose, but not surprising when you see the recipe. Juniper is present, but takes more of a background role, with a sweet spiciness, and a touch of citrus being much more pronounced. As with all gins, the taste differs when drinking straight (neat, over ice), or with a tonic. When tried neat, the juniper comes forward in the taste with a pleasant tanginess (coming from the quince and apple). Citrus notes are present, but more round the gin off than being too prevalent. When tried with tonic, this really comes alive as the carbonation (bubbles), lift the botanicals allowing more to shine. The citrus is more noticeable when drunk this way. Coming in a brilliant blue bottle, with regal gold lettering befitting its Royal background, the overall result is definitely fit for a King! Read more about Gin 1689 Perfect Serve Try sipping this gin neat over ice to really appreciate the recipe, and time taken to bring this gin back to life. If enjoying as a G&T we recommend Fever-Tree Premium Indian Tonic Water. 50ml of gin to 150ml of tonic is a good ratio to work with, but feel free to adjust to your taste. Garnish with a slice of orange and a few juniper berries.

Rynbende Vintage Genever (Mini) 5cl

Rynbende Vintage Genever (Mini) 5cl

The Mayor of Exploration: Rynbende Vintage Genever Introduction Rynbende have a history going back more than 200 years. The distillery was established in 1793, by Simon Rybende in the world's Jenever capital, Schiedam. A former sailor, he turned to business, and distilling, and was even appointed the Mayor of Schiedam. A New Generation of Rynbende The Rynbende brand has had highs and lows during it's history and was re-ignited again in 2022, when the original Rynbende recipes were passed down to another generation through inheritance . Now called Rynbende Spirits, the focus is on producing high end spirits, with a selective distribution network (of which Gin Fling is happy to be one). Authentic Rynbended Botanicals Rynbender Vintage Genever was the first spirit to be launched and based on an old recipe found in the inherited recipe book. 'The Mayor of Exploration' is an old genever and is an ode to the glory days of the original distillery, containing authentic botanicals (peppermint leaf, angelica seed, cinnamon, clove, hyssop, angelica root, cardamom and mace) which gave it it's signature taste, setting it apart from the competition. Traditional Distilling Rynbende is distilled according to the Schiedam tradition from 1902, which produces a purer drink. It is made with malt wine that has been aged for 3 years in American oak barrels, and with smoky malt whiskey and vodka aged in European oak barrels for 25 years. This is a drink that will suit both jenever and whiskey lovers alike. Tasting Notes Aroma: Juniper berries are combined with cinnamon, camphor and a hint of peat, with underlying floral and fresh citrus notes Taste: Warm, woody notes are complimented by mint leaves, cloves, a touch of lemon and a delicate sweetness. Finish: Intense and long, More from Rynbende Perfect Serve Perfect to sip neat, Rynbende Vintage Genever is also great in cocktails. Inspired by the 'Dark n Stormy' but with genever instead or rum, how about a Stormy at Sea. Flll a glass with ice and squeeze in the juice of half a lime. Add 100ml ginger beer and pour 50ml Rynbende Vintage Genever over the back of a spoon so you get a nice layer on the top. Add a wedge of lime and enjoy. FAQ's What is the difference between genever and gin? Genever is only ever made from grains like rye, malted barley and corn, whereas Gin can be distilled from anything, including grains, grapes and even potatoes. Genever is often described as a cross between gin and whiskey and appeals to drinkers of both spirits. Where is Rynbende Vintage Genever made? It is distilled using traditional methods in Schiedam, known as the Jenever capital of The Netherlands. How should Rynbende Vintage Genever be served? Neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail. It tastes great with ginger beer and works well in a variation of a Dark n Stormy cocktail.  What food works well with Rynbende Vintage Genever? Perfect when paired with seafood, whether it's a seafood banquet, tuna sushi, a salmon and cream cheese baguette or spicy mussels.

Malfy Originale Gin (Mini) 5cl

Malfy Originale Gin "Lo spirito di Amalfi" - The spirit of Amalfi The Alamfi Coast. Nowhere else encapsulates the spirit of Italy quite so well. Sun soaked, stylish, life moves at its own pace here. It is this lifestyle " La Dolce Via" (the sweet life) that inspired Malfy Gin.  The delistillery where Malfy Originale Gin is produced is situated in Moncalieri, just outside Torino. This area is famed for its production of fine wines and spirits. It's said that avid climbers Carlo Vergnano and Beppe Ronco (the distillers behind Malfy Gin) were inspired during a climb to the top of Monviso (which can be seen from the distillery). There they saw wild juniper, pure water, and amazing colours of nature and lakes. This gin, their classic dry gin, is made using the botanicals that inspired them. Hand-picked juniper, sun-ripened Italian lemons, and water from the Piedmont region. When expertly distilled, these give the authentic taste of Malfy Originale Gin. The aroma is a classic gin, with a strong aroma of juniper, mixing with coriander and anise. The flavour is typical of a dry, almost lightly salty gin, with a complex juniper flavour and liquorice. However the slight hint of citrus says Malfy.  Fun to know.... the blue colour of the label is inspired by the mountain lakes, and the white of the label the snow capped peak of Monviso. Read more about Malfy Perfect Serve Dry and crisp, this makes an excellent classic g & t. Pour 50ml of gin into a copa glass over plenty of ice. Poseidon Dry Gin Much like the sea, Poseidon Gin is bold, complex and multi-layered. The combination of knowledge and effort are what go into creating Poseidon. Over 40 different botanicals and numerous variations, the right combination of was found. They essence of maritime passion was captured, a harmonious balance was struck and Poseidon Gin set foot into the world. There are 12 botanicals from around the world: wakame seaweed, rosemary, cardamom, elderflower, rosehip, liquorice, ginger, grains of paradise, cubeb berries, lemon peel, coriander seeds and of course, juniper berries. Edinburgh Gin Orange Blossom & Mandarin Liqueur (Mini) 5cl

Cointreau (Mini) 5cl

Cointreau (Mini) 5cl

Cointreau Created in 1849, Cointreau's original recipe, rituals, and commitment to quality have been passed down through generations of the family, transforming a family name into an international brand. Using only quality ingredients, Cointreau source oranges from Brazil to Spain, and Ghana to Morocco. They utilise a blend of the sweet and bitter orange peels and blend them.  The result ia balanced, versatile, and exceptionally aromatic. Whilst the bottle is a deep amber colour (and instantly recognisable), the liqueur inside is transparent. When opening the bottle you are instantly greeted by the blend of oranges. Zesty, fresh and floral, it has a sweetness to it too. The flavour is fresh yet it lingers pleasantly on the palate and is (unsurprisingly) intensely orange in flavour. Read more about Cointreau Perfect Serve Whilst this can be enjoyed on its own, with lemonade or simply over ice, its a key component in a number of cocktails. Tw of our favourites are these. For a White Lady, pour 30 ml of Cointreau, 30 ml of gin (we like the Botanist), 30 ml of fresh lemon juice and 1 egg white into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, and then shake until the ingredients are mised and well chilled. Pour into a cocktail glass, and garnish with a twist of lemon. Or for a slightly sweeter drink, try a Breakfast Martini. Pour 15ml of Cointreau, 50 ml of gin (again, Botanist works well here), 15ml of fresh lemon juice and this time 1 tbsp of Orange Marmalade into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled and well mixed. Strain into a cocktail glass, and garnish with a twist of Orange peel
