Mermaid Gin Presented in a stunning "fish-scale" like bottle with a cork stopper, this gin has been hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight (a small island off the south coast of the UK) since 2014. The Isle of Wight Distillery use ten ethically sourced botanicals in the creation of Mermaid Gin. This signature gin was named after the lead botanical (rock samphire), which is known locally in the Isle of Wight as "Mermaid's kiss". This succulent is aromatic, and clings to the cliffs surrounding the island, and they mark the high tide line on the beautiful beaches it's known for. Like the kiss of the mythical mermaid (which saved sailors lost at sea), the rock samphire was a signal that shipwrecked sailors (and smugglers through history!) were safe from the raging seas. The samphire gives fresh citrus notes, as well as a delicate hint of fresh sea air. Other botanicals in this gin include elderflower for its aroma, grains of paradise for a smooth delicate pepper taste, organic lemon zest for vibrant citrus notes, boadicea hops which give a spicy earthiness, coriander which adds a delicate herbal citrus tone, angelica root which assists in blending the other botanicals into a coherent taste and aroma, liquorice root to help define the mouthfeel and add a touch of smoothness, orris root which aids in holding the aroma of the gin, and lastly (but no means least), juniper which is core in all gins.  It delivers a smooth yet complex blend of fresh organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, with a hint of sea air from the locally foraged, fragrant rock samphire. Edinburgh Gin 1670 Met de natuurlijke connectie tussen plantkunde en distillatie, is deze gin een limited edition-samenwerking tussen Edinburgh Gin en de Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. De inspiratie voor deze gin werd gehaald na de ontdekking van de "1670 Physic Garden". Dit werd gebruikt als een bron van botanisch geïnspireerde medicinale remedies door twee dokters uit Edinburgh, Robert Sibbald en Andrew Balfour. Gedurende een periode van 12 maanden werkte David Wilkinson (Edinburgh Gin's Head-distilleerder) samen met de hoofd botanicus van de Royal Botanic Garden. Poseidon Dry Gin Much like the sea, Poseidon Gin is bold, complex and multi-layered. Starting with fresh citrus, a velvety heart and a spicy finish, this gin uses distinctive seaweed to uncover a crisp but subtle hint of the sea. The combination of knowledge and effort are what go into creating Poseidon. Over 40 different botanicals and numerous variations, the right combination of was found. They essence of maritime passion was captured, a harmonious balance was struck and Poseidon Gin set foot into the world. There are 12 botanicals from around the world: wakame seaweed, rosemary, cardamom, elderflower, rosehip, liquorice, ginger, grains of paradise, cubeb berries, lemon peel, coriander seeds and of course, juniper berries. The name hints at what is to be experienced upon opening the bottle. It starts off with ocean freshness, which is then followed by intense juniper and warm spices. The aroma offers a harmonious get-together of the sea and the earth. Upon tasting, the power of the ocean really takes over. The juniper makes way for the Wakame (seaweed) to give a warm taste of the sea, accompanied by a surprising slightly sweet hint at the end. Hun lekkere drankjes geven een tweede leven aan de overgebleven koffiedik en sinaasappelschillen uit de horeca die normaal gesproken in de prullenbak belanden. De Dik&Schil Circulaire Gin haalt ongewenste sinaasappelschillen uit horeca en de gesnoeide stekken van Koppert Cress (leveranciers van vers gekiemde zaailingen, aromatische eetbare bladeren en bloemen) en maakt er een unieke, zachte en pittige gin van. De restbladeren zijn perfect in combinatie met de sinaasappel en brengen elk iets anders in de mix. Kaffir Lime leaves versterken het recept met hun sterke citrussmaak, Cardmom leaves voegen body en een verwarmende smaak toe, terwijl het Shiso leaf met zijn sterke, mysterieuze smaak (die doet denken aan munt, basilicum, tijm, koriander, kaneel en anijs) karakter toevoegt. Gin 1689 Dutch Dry Gin (Mini) 5cl

Gin 1689 This gin is based on an original recipe (from 1689.... hence the name!), by the Dutch William of Orange after he was proclaimed King of England, Ireland and Scotland in 1689. Through painstaking research in the Royal British Library's rare book section, this recipe came to light after being found in the rare books archive. The recipe detailed the original ingredients, but unfortunately the quantities were concealed by code, which to date has not been broken! Not to be deterred, the rights of the recipe were acquired, and a perfect partner found to recreate the delicate flavours of the original gin: Herman Jansen. One of the Netherlands finest distillers, the distillery was founded in 1777 and based in the Dutch Gin & Genever capital Schiedam. Through trial and error, today's recipe was perfected and finalised. The original ingredients from 350 years ago are used, with Gin 1689 beautifully combining juniper with dried quince and pippin (an ancient apple variety), lemon and orange peel, nutmeg, aniseed and clove. It's quite fruity on the nose, but not surprising when you see the recipe. Juniper is present, but takes more of a background role, with a sweet spiciness, and a touch of citrus being much more pronounced. As with all gins, the taste differs when drinking straight (neat, over ice), or with a tonic. When tried neat, the juniper comes forward in the taste with a pleasant tanginess (coming from the quince and apple). Citrus notes are present, but more round the gin off than being too prevalent. When tried with tonic, this really comes alive as the carbonation (bubbles), lift the botanicals allowing more to shine. The citrus is more noticeable when drunk this way. Coming in a brilliant blue bottle, with regal gold lettering befitting its Royal background, the overall result is definitely fit for a King! IBHU Indlovu Citrus Gin The story beging IBHU's Pink gin starts the same way as with their original (and unique) gin. Whilst on a safari in Kenya, the founders were enjoying a g&t whilst watching a herd of elephants. Their guide was telling how particular elephants are in their browsiing habits, yet actually digest little of what they eat. So.... an idea was born.... would it be possible to make elephant dung gin? This is truly a gin made in Africa, which is designed by elephants! (Don't worry.... the dung is carefully collected, then washed and dried before being distilled!) Indlovu is even the word for elephant in several South African languages. It's these majestic animals which dictate, in their foraging habits, the botanicals utilised in the creation of this gin. This gin has a true provenance to it, similar to wines. The dung is collected in different locations, and at different times of the year. This dictates some of the botanicals found in the gin. On the back of each bottle are two numbers, the first is the co-ordinates of the game reserve where its collected, and the second is the date when it was collected. Whilst the elephants help in the making of the gin, the classical botanicals in the gin are Juniper, Angelica, Orris Root, Coriander and citrus. Those which are chosen by the elephants could include Buccu (Agathosma crenulata), Acacia (Acacia mearnsii), Guarii (Euclea undulata) and Erica (Erica coccinea) (which are the elephants’ favourite foods). This does however change season to season. With the Citrus gin, more of the elephants favourite foods are added to the gin. Taking their classic gin the folks at IBHU infuse it with the delicious marula fruit and wild oranges. This ensures there is a wonderfully fruity character to the gin, as well as the ancient spirit of the African savannah. The elephants absolutely love the deliciously tangy marula fruit - in fact it's probably their favourite food. Along with this, they also love wild oranges, and their heightened sense of smell means they can sniff them out at great distances! The two blend perfectly with the classic gin, giving another unique dimension to the Indlovu range of gins.
