Doragrossa Selezioni Vermouth Rosso Turin was once known as the capital of Liqueurs. It's location, surrounded by fertile land, rich in herbs, flowers and fruits, and its closeness to the port of Genoa where marketplaces were overflowing with exotic spices meant that many artisans gathered in the Contrada (district or quarter) Dora Gross and developed increasingly refined techniques and trades. It's this nod to history, which is reflected in their name, and the botanicals they use which makes Doragrossa unique. Their Selezioni range of vermouth, bitter and gin were created to enable the creation of the most popular Italian drinks. These drinks are made for mixing, but flavourful enough to also be enjoyed neat. At the end of the 18th Century fortified wines (Vermouths) were growing in popularity around the world. It was later on that the Rosso versions became popular. This has an enticing aroma of absinthe, and citrus fruits. The palate is complex, with honts of ginger, cinnamon, angelica and orange. Tanqueray No. Ten Gin 1L

Tanqueray No. Ten Gin It may be hard to imagine improving on the original Tanqueray, but this gin does just that. Introduced to the world in 2000 it was developed with an extreme passion for quality, and attention to detail which resulted in a gin which, we have to admit, is an exquisite addition to any bar, or drinks cupboard. Tanqueray No. Ten utilises the classic botanicals from Tanqueray (Juniper, Coriander, Angelica root and Licorice), but instead of a double-distillation process, a four times distillation process is used. It is made in small batches to ensure quality in each batch. Fresh citrus flavours from limes, orange and pink grapefruit are then added, along with chamomile flowers to "Tiny Ten" (the still which gives the gin its name), which enhances this premium gin even further. The end result is a gin which is enjoyed the world over by bartenders, restauranteurs, and gin connoissseurs in general. Delightful, delicious, and exquisite citrus burts are to be found in every sip. It takes the already great Tanqueray to a new level. The citrus giving new heights of refreshment, and the chamomile adding a gentle floral edge to the aroma. We can certainly see why this is so well thought of, and feel its a must add to any gin shelf. It's worthy of note that this is the only gin to have been inducted in the San Francisco World Spirits competition hall of fame! Well deserved. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Gemaakt aan de rand van een meer, in een klein Iers stadje genaamd Drumshanbo (waar de gin zijn naam aan ontleent). Hier vind je The Shed Distillery. Dit is een gin die verre van gewoon is, ze distilleren hun gin langzaam met behulp van enkele van de beste oosterse plantaardige ingrediënten van de natuur, samen met buskruitthee. De fles zelf verwijst naar de creativiteit achter deze gin. Het tonen van de Jackalope, een schepsel van mysterie en verwondering. Het is het mythologische nageslacht van een jackrabbit en een antilope. Blijkbaar verwekt tijdens een onweersbui - de Jackalope verschijnt naar believen in Drumshanbo.... als een droom. Daar was het ene moment, het andere moment verdwenen in een vlaag van voeten en geweien. Drumshanbo gaat over het samenbrengen van voorheen niet-gerelateerde dingen, voor de eerste keer - maar waarschijnlijk niet de laatste keer. Mogelijkheden zien in het ongewone. Om deze reden is de Jackalope het symbool geworden van de opmerkelijke Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Bij de creatie van deze gin wordt een hele reeks plantaardige ingrediënten gebruikt, geïnspireerd op de reizen van PJ Rigney, de meesterdistilleerder. Gebruik jeneverbes, koriander, steranijs, liswortel, chinese citroen, grapefruit, kafir limoen en (zoals de naam al doet vermoeden) buskruitthee. De buskruitthee is een groene thee die langzaam is gedroogd en geeft een gedurfde, heldere en licht gekruide frisheid aan de gin. De neus van deze gin is verfrissend licht en citrusachtig. Er is een noot van citrusschil die zich vermengt met kruidachtige jeneverbes en een beetje jeneverbes. Op het gehemelte is dit een knaller! Het explodeert met smaken, waarbij citrus domineert. Grapefruit schijnt hier echt door. Midden in de mond komen de jeneverbes en thee door, samen met een heldere toon van jeneverbes. De gin eindigt rustiger, licht zoet met kruidige tonen. Anijs en kardemom zijn subtiel en leiden tot moerasspirea - wat een delicate honing-vanille-nuance geeft. Hoewel deze een nogal excentrieke mix van plantaardige ingrediënten heeft, werken ze allemaal uitzonderlijk goed samen, en de gin is zeer uitgebalanceerd.
