Sanctum 2 is a continuation of the popular indie game released in 2011. Like the original, it is a hybrid of FPS and RTS tower defense. The whole thing was redesigned by the Swedish Coffee Stain Studios team.GameplayThe basic gameplay mechanics are based on solutions typical of the tower defense genre. Each map has an energy nucleus and our task is to prevent further alien waves from entering it. For this purpose, we build defensive structures such as cannons or lasers. Each of them can be upgraded for points earned for killed enemies. The key to success is to arrange the buildings in such a way as to extend the route of the aliens' march as much as possible and thus give our turrets more time to deal with intruders. The freshness of the game is added by the fact that we observe the action from the first-person perspective and with the help of several types of weapons we personally take part in repelling waves of enemies.
