Holdfast: Nations At War is a historical action game released on the PC platform that allows you to play great battles in multiplayer mode. This is the debut production of the Maltese studio Anvil Games, founded by part of the team responsible for Mount & Blade: Warband - Napoleonic Wars .
Gameplay
Available on PC, Holdfast: Nations At War is an action game set in the times of the Napoleonic Wars, recreating land and sea clashes. Regardless of whether we fight at sea or on land, cooperation with teammates plays a key role. Both types of skirmishes put at our disposal separate classes with unique features and fulfilling different roles. During the game, we fight sea battles on board of powerful sailing ships, on which each player receives specific duties to fulfill. On the other hand, in land battles, we take part in both open-air skirmishes and sieges. There are also maps that combine both types of gameplay. The scale of the fights is really large, which is matched by the impressive size of the location.
The combat system focuses on realism. The slow reloading rate of firearms makes direct combat equally important. The authors have developed a fencing mechanic that is simple to learn, but offers a lot of freedom, which can reliably test the reflexes and accuracy of players. The production allows you to play both in the first-person perspective and with the camera placed behind the back of our character.
