Carto is a fairytale-like production in which a little girl travels the world by maneuvering terrain tiles. The game is developed by Sunhead Games studio, and its release by Humble Games, known for such titles as Forager, TemTem or Void Bastards. In the game we play the title Carto, a girl who is looking for a way home and has the unique ability to move terrain tiles, thanks to which she can get to normally inaccessible places. During our journey, we travel through various biomes that differ not only in appearance, but also in the characters and culture that inhabit them. And so, ahead of us is a journey through forests, desert, meadows, swamps and so on. Carto also encounters a number of NPCs on his way; most of them need help in return for which they share a tip telling which direction to go next to get home. Carto is a 2D adventure game from above, full of logical elements related to the unique power of the heroine. This consists in the fact that at any time we can enter the screen with a map of the terrain divided into square tiles; often on one tile different biomes are adjacent to each other, like on tokens from the well-known board game Carcassonne. While on the map screen, we can freely rotate and move the tile on which the heroine is located, transporting her to another part of the world. The only requirement is that the biomes marked on it match the place we choose: the forest must touch the forest, the water must touch the water, etc. At the beginning these puzzles are simple, but the further into the forest (literally), the more and more complicated combination is waiting for us.
