Notifier Local Silence Button Kit NF-SIL-BKITThe NOTIFIER Local Silence Button in conjunction with the advanced programmingprovided by the Pearl control panel enables the use of a full BS5839 Part 1 system inapplications such as assisted living retirement homes student accommodation highrise residential buildings. Often the risk of false alarm in such buildings has led to thesesorts of installation being provided with individual systems for the flats linked to alandlord system for the shared area.The use of the NOTIFIER local silence button and Type-B dependency programmingnow enables full BS 5839 Part 1 systems to be installed in all areas.Type B DependencyType B dependency allows a zone to be defined for each individual flat that acts as ifit were a separate system. On receipt of an unconfirmed fire signal from a flat onlythe local alarm within the flat is given. If the alarm is confirmed by a second signal thesystem proceeds to the relevant evacuation stage general alarm or part of stagedevacuation. Alternatively if the confirmation signal is not given the system may resetautomatically without attendance by facility management staff.Local Silence ButtonThe local silence button is a multi-position switch that allows not only sounder test andsilencing but also disablement of smoke detection and the indication of disablement. Aswith other features it is flexible in configuration so that the facilities may be tailored tosuit each site.NOTIFIER NF-SIL-BKIT LOCAL SILENCE BUTTON KIT FEATURESBest detection throughout. AllowsOpal multi criteria detectors to reducefalse alarms.Fully configurable. Allowing theinstaller to design delay periods andresponse times on all parts of thesystem in order to ensure it meetsyour building requirements.Flexible and simple to install. TheLocal Silence Button is available in a kitincluding wiring loom and loop moduleSupporting compliance. BS5839 Part6 requires the alarm in each dwellingto be tested on a regular basis. Thisactivity is logged on the Pearl systemallowing landlords to check theresidents are performing this taskensuring fire safety and compliance.Local Silence of an AlarmThe user is able to silence the local sounder or sounder beacons within their premisesby pressing the Fire Alarm Silence button when a detector has activated within theirpremises. When the site is in a full evacuation mode this feature is disabled and thelocal sounder or sounder beacons cannot be silenced by the user.Local DisablementIf the user believes that they may generate an unwanted alarm from a smoke detectorwithin their premises they can press and hold the Fire Alarm Silence button for 5seconds. The yellow LED illuminates which will then disable the detection in that zoneonly for a configurable period of between 5-15 minutes in accordance with BS5839 Part 6.At the end of the configured period the zone will automatically re-enable all detectionwill be active and the LED will be extinguished.Local TestA test feature is available which allows the user to operate the sounder or sounderbeacons within the local zone by pressing and holding down the Fire Alarm Testbutton once released the sounder or sounder beacons will silence.ConnectionThe button is connected to the Pearl loop via a Notifier 21 dual input single outputinterface unit and a 5-core cable.
