Lovely elastic thread that you can use in machine- and hand-sewn projects. It consists of 62 % rubber and 38 % polyester. The OEKO-TEX 1 certified thread is 0.6 mm thick. Elastic thread is awesome when used to smock and in projects where you use stretch fabrics.

Sewing thread cotton black 1000m

This is durable, soft and 100 % natural, high-quality thread made of Egyptian cotton, which you can use for hand-sewn and machine-sewn projects. The thread is mercerised – i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is softer and glossier. For great results, use it in all your projects. The mercerisation process ensures that cotton thread shrinks less and therefore keeps its shape better.  Our cotton thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified. 

Quilting thread black 300m

Strong and luxurious quilting thread, made of 100 % Egyptian cotton. It is mercerised, i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is soft and glossy. This ensures that you can achieve a really nice finish when quilting or doing patchwork. It is a good idea to wax the thread with paraffin wax (item number 41031). Waxing ensures that the thread glides more easily through the fabric, e.g. when you quilt by hand. Our quilting thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified. 

Duchess satin black dull

Get ready for your next partyDo you need to sew a party dress - maybe even with a matching bow tie or sash - for the next party? Or are you in the process of designing your confirmation dress but need the perfect blank fabric to bring your design to life? Party satin - or duchess satin - is a great choice: Its bright colours and elegant drape give you plenty of options for creating festive dresses, shirts, tops, bow ties, vests and trouser suits.   And if you want it all to match, you can also sew a small clutch to go with it. A little more about this satinMade from 100% polyester, this satin has a nice drape and the classic satin look in a variety of colours. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 150 grams and shrinks about 1% in the wash. You can machine wash it at 40° - remember that it should always be hang-dried and only ironed at low heat. TIP: Avoid water and water-based markers - they can leave small stains (same goes for hand cream!). Instead, use tailor's chalk to make markings. Always make a test on a small piece first, then draw on the back. And - while we're on the subject of water - never use steam on satin as it can leave water stains and the high temperature from the steam can change the lustre of the fabric. Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips.What is satin?Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. For this satin you will need microtex needles.

A higher number means a heavier/higher density fabric). The fabric measures 125-145 cm in width, and of course you can choose the length yourself, but remember to factor in that it shrinks 5% when washed. NB: Always wash denim before use to avoid staining.  Remember to use a stretch or jeans needle and a strong denim thread.

Modern retro in velvetWho doesn't dream of a pair of cool corduroy trousers for everyday and festive wear? We certainly do! And this corduroy is perfect for the purpose. It contains wide ridges (8 Wales) and is made from 100% cotton, so it is comfortable to wear and breathable. Velvet is hardwearing and suitable for both clothing and creative projects for the home. Velvet for you - and your home! You decide what you want to sew. There are of course the classic corduroy trousers, but it could also be a nice shirt-dress, a cool spencer or maybe a smaller project like a lovely bucket hat? And when it comes to home-ware: How about sewing some velvet cushions for the sofa? Or you can use velvet to make the coolest shopper or belt bag. Find your favourite colours and get started with scissors, needle and thread!   Velvet is sold by the metre, so simply order the length you need. The width is 140 cm and the fabric shrinks about 3% in the wash.   Remember to use the right needles - we recommend a size 80 universal needle.  What is Wales? Wales indicates the width of the raised ridges in the velvet that defines the velvety texture of the fabric. A low Wales indicates wide ridges i.e. less ridges per inch. On the other hand, a high Wales indicates narrow ridges. For example velvet with 4 Wales per inch has wide ridges and will feel heavier, while velvet with 21 Wales per inch has narrow ridges and will feel finer. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?
