Three tips for those working with PAP FAB Draw your pattern directly on the white backing with a pencil before cutting it out (don't use your regular fabric scissors for PAP FAB - it will dull them). The material feels like strong cardboard to cut, so when working on larger projects, machine wash (at max 60°) or soak the material before starting. That way, the material is more flexible to work with. If your project gets a little too curly, you can always smooth it by moistorising the material and ironing it (max heat represents two dots). PAP FAB is water-repellent, but not waterproof.

Overlock thread black 5000m

Premium quality overlock thread in 100 % polyester, suitable for use with all overlockers. Overlock thread is slightly finer than regular sewing thread. An overlocker works differently than a sewing machine. Overlocked seams are stretchier. While an overlocker sews with one or two needles and two loopers, a sewing machine sews with an upper thread and a lower thread that lock together between the fabric layers. In overlock stitching, two threads wrap around the edge of the fabric. Essentially, overlock stitching creates a seam and binds edges at the same time. Due to the special overlocker technique and threading, overlock thread is available on 5000 m cones. Our overlock thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

The classic multi-purpose elastic bandIf there's one elastic band that brings back memories, it's probably this one. It reminds you of the type of elastic band that was a key component of your parents' sewing box; it was the elastic you found when you were allowed to rummage for nice buttons - and if you were lucky, you got a little piece to play with. The elastic is flat, the quality is braided, and it really is a great go-to elastic. With its 5 mm width, it's perfect as elastic for children's trousers, lovely puff sleeves and elegant necklines on tops and dresses. But it's also your go-to when you need elastic for festive masks for Shrove Tuesday and Halloween.   We prefer to use the elastic so that it is hidden in a drawstring. This elastic band can be washed at 60° and tumble dried at low heat, so you can also use it for panties, for example. This is simply a high quality elastic that keeps its elasticity wash after wash.

Strong and luxurious quilting thread, made of 100 % Egyptian cotton. It is mercerised, i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is soft and glossy. This ensures that you can achieve a really nice finish when quilting or doing patchwork. It is a good idea to wax the thread with paraffin wax (item number 41031). Waxing ensures that the thread glides more easily through the fabric, e.g. when you quilt by hand. Our quilting thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.
