Firefighting Simulator: The Squad is a first-person simulator in which the player can play the role of a member of the firefighting team and actively participate in realistically reproduced actions. Chronos Unterhaltungssoftware is responsible for its production, while Astragon Entertainment - a successful publisher of simulation games for PC, consoles and mobile platforms, responsible for, among others, for such titles as Construction Simulator or Big Fish. The production of Firefighting Simulator was carried out in cooperation with the Rosenbauer Group - one of the leaders among manufacturers of firefighting equipment. The game was developed on the Unreal Engine 4. The characters appearing in it speak English, but the developers took care of Polish subtitles.
Gameplay
The player plays the role of a firefighter and, together with his team, takes part in rescue operations focused on removing the effects of disasters and extinguishing fires. To this end, he visits various parts of a large city, inspired by the East Coast of North America. In the game, we travel through an area of sixty square kilometers, divided into districts such as the industrial zone, suburbs or the center - over 30 different locations, each of which offers several ways to curb fire, both during the day and at night. To get to the crash site as quickly as possible, the player can use one of the five licensed Rosenbauer America fire trucks, such as the TP3 Pumper or the T: Rex with a hydraulic platform and access to the cockpit view. In addition to the vehicles, it also has authentic, licensed equipment - a helmet, boots and a breathing apparatus - from such American firefighting brands as Cairns, MSA G1 SCBA or HAIX.
The game has been enriched with realistic simulations of water or flames, smoke or heat accompanying the spread of fire. Fire may also cause a short circuit, leakage of chemicals and an explosion. The degrees of destruction that can be caused by insufficiently quickly extinguished fire have also been shown in an authentic way.
To fully recreate the atmosphere of real action, Firefighting Simulator also faithfully recreates the sounds of fire engine sirens. In order to become better acquainted with the rules of the game, the player can take advantage of an extensive tutorial, moreover, during the game, he has the ability to track radio messages, which will allow him to quickly find out about the situation at the scene of the accident.
