And the colour – that's up to you. Find one that matches your project, choose one that offers a subtle shade difference, or go all out on contrast and pick one (or several!) that stands out and draws attention. It's your design – you obviously decide.     The bias tape is 18 mm wide and made of 100% cotton. You get 5 meters of bias tape in a package.    Use bias tape for...   Stitch bias tape on blankets and bath towels. Use it on dresses, shirts and blouses – and for baby clothes and bodysuits. Let the bias tape act as lovely details and beautiful finishes on edges and cutouts.     Good to know about bias tape  Bias tape has the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many types of fabric. As the name suggests, it's cut on the bias, so it naturally follows your curves, necklines, corners, and edges. This provides a beautiful finish.     How to stitch on bias tape  Bias tape is for sewing onto curves, corners, and straight stretches. When sewing the bias tape onto your project, stitch in straight stitches with a stitch length of about 2.5 cm. While you're sewing, don't pull or stretch it. Let it align naturally along the edge, ensuring a neat finish.     TIP  When you start sewing on your bias tape, fold about 2 cm inwards so it's double-layered. When finishing, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending bias tape.

Use 70 g of dye powder per 200g of fabric for strong colouration. Use 70 grs of poweder per 400 g of fabric for a less intense colouration. This batik textile dye paint is suitable for various dyeing techniques, e.g. tie-dye and dip-dye. Always wash the fabric before starting to paint. Fill a bucket or tub with very hot water (95°C), enough to cover your fabric. Add your dye and stir until completely dissolved. Then immerse the damp fabric in the colour bath. NB: Make sure that the dye is completely dissolved before you add the fabric. If not, the results will be spotty or uneven. Leave the fabric to soak for no more than one hour . Rinse your fabric with hot water. Batik dyes do not tolerate high temperatures. Wash your dyed fabric at max 40°C. Wash separately the first time. NB: To enhance the colours and prevent them for wearing off, we recommend you use our Javana fixing agent. Without fixing agent, the dyes will soon wash out.

The invisible zipper!When you want to hide the zipper!  In some designs, the zipper is essential because it can be seen - in others, it's primarily about functionality. The latter fits this zipper, which is a YKK spiral zipper with teeth and stopper in plastic, while the drop shutter itself is in metal. How to use the zipperFor example, sew the zipper in the middle, back or side of finer projects where you want to hide the zipper - for example in light dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers. The invisible zipper is also perfect for bedding and decorative pillows, where the zipper is purely functional but not part of the design.  What you need to know about invisible zippersWe recommend that you buy this zipper 5 cm longer than the opening in your project to achieve the best result when sewing. Sew as close to the teeth as possible and use a presser foot specially designed for this purpose (item no. 46101 if you are using a BERNINA sewing machine and item no. 46172 if you are using a BERNETTE sewing machine).  On the invisible zipper, the spiral is on the back of the invisible zipper. When you sew it in correctly, the spiral tips over on the back and pulls the fabric with it, so the zipper itself is completely hidden.  Note: This invisible zipper is to be used as an invisible zipper only, as it is not stable enough to be used for other sewing techniques where the seams come far away from the spiral itself.   We recommend that you close the zipper before washing. Find a guide on how to sew in an invisible zipper by searching for "Sewing invisible zipper".  Know your zipper There are many different zippers. Functionally, they can be divided into three categories: the non-divisible with closed end, which is used for example in trousers and dresses. The separable, used for example in jackets and cardigans, where you need your design to open completely and the zipper to split in two. And the split 2-way zipper, used for example in coats, where the fact that it can be opened from the bottom as well as from the top gives extra flexibility.This zipper is non-divisible. All our zippers are nickel-free.
