The semi-dark bedroom  Do you prefer regular curtains or blackout curtains in your bedroom? Here’s – perhaps – the compromise.     This fabric has a light fastness of around 50%, giving you the best of both worlds: Some light and heat are kept out, but you still have a sense of the morning outside your window.     The fabric has a coarsely woven front side and a light back side. Choose the shade that fits your bedroom.     Missing anything else for your curtains?   Search for “Curtain Accessories” and find everything you need for your new blackout curtains.     Good to know about blackout curtains  When sewing your blackout curtain fabric, it's important to note that the needle can leave small holes in your material. Once the curtain is hung, these will appear as tiny points of light in the seams. Therefore, we recommend reducing the number of holes in your material by sewing with longer stitch lengths (and possibly a thinner needle).     A few more details  The fabric is made of 100% polyester. You choose how many metres you want – the fabric is 150 cm wide and shrinks by 1%.

Duchess satin with stretch sand

The most flexible satinDresses, jackets, shirts, tops and skirts - you can sew pretty much anything you want with this stretch satin fabric.   It's the classic satin weave with elastane added, so you get a more matte surface and a more flexible material with greater freedom of movement than the classic satin weaves. Choose from a wide range of beautiful colours and get crafty for your next festive occasion. A little more about this satinThe fabric is made of polyester/elastane, measures 135 cm in width and can be washed at 40° - remember to let it air dry hanging and iron only at low heat. It shrinks approx. 1% in the wash. TIP: Sharp scissors are a must when working with satin. The fabric can be difficult to cut because it's slippery and also offers a lot of resistance. Use a good quality pair of fabric scissors or, if you want to make it even easier, a sharp roller knife/roller cutter. Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips. What is satin? Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. For this satin you will need stretch needles.

Very strong upholstery thread, made of 100 % polyester, which is core spun and therefore very durable – in fact, it is even stronger than our denim thread. It is great for all kinds of creative projects where you use very thick materials. For example, upholstery velvet and textured upholstery fabrics to re-cover your sofa or give a new lease of life to cushions, mattresses and foam cubes. You can also use very strong upholstery thread in outdoor projects, e.g. when you make Dralon hammocks and similar projects. Our very strong upholstery thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

This ORGANIC French terry is brushed on the wrong side. It is made of 100 % organic cotton.
