Large Immitation Amber 108 Mala Beads - Fair Trade
108 chunky Imitation amber beads. The beads measure approximately 10-11 mm and are strung together on a solid (non elasticated) strong thread.
Hindu tradition holds that the correct way to use a mala is with the right hand, with the thumb flicking one bead to the next, and with the mala draped over the middle finger. The index finger represents ego, the greatest impediment to Self-Realisation, so it is considered best avoided (as with the ego) when chanting on a mala.
These malas are designed by our team at The Bo Tree and then hand made by local artisans in Kathmandu Nepal using ethically sourced local materials. When buying from The Bo Tree you are helping to improve the standard of living for rural families in Nepal....
Please note that all our items are handmade so slight variations will naturally occur, no two are the same.
