C-TEC BF375PEK Double Gang Automatic Door Release SystemAn ancillary function of many fire alarm systems is the automatic closure of fire doors in the event of a fire. On larger systems however it is not always practical to globally shut all of a buildings fire doors particularly if the fire is consigned to a distant secure area. With this in mind in addition to demanding the installation of a standard fire alarm system an increasing number of specifications are also calling for independent self-contained door release systems sited locally to each set of fire doors. C-TECs BF375PEK is one such system.The system includes a compact 24V 250mA double gang power supply featuring an on-board detector circuit two optical smoke detectors and bases and one electromagnetic door retainer. In normal conditions the power supply energizes the door retainer to hold the fire door open. On each side of the door a smoke detector is installed.Should one or more of the detectors go into alarm the door will close. For added protection depending on how the system is wired the door will also close if one or both of the smoke detectors is removed from its base if there is an open or short circuit if the mains fails if the power supplys on-board manual release button is pressed or if an optional external manual release button is activated Although only one electromagnetic door retainer is supplied with the BF375PEK additional magnets can be connected. Electro Detectors Radio Silence Alarm Button EDA-T5100The Alarm Silence Button brings more flexibility to the operation of the already sophisticated Zerio Plus fire alarm system. The units usually installed in individual flats are designed to be used in conjunction with the Zerio Plus HMO programming mode. If the system detects smoke or heat in a flat then the sounders in the flat would automatically sound and a warning displayed on the control panel. If the activation has been caused by the occupant of the flat he would normally have to go the control panel but in order to silence the sounders he can now silence the alarm from his own flat this result in the sounders being silenced and the panel being reset. As it is likely that there is still smoke or heat in the vicinity of the flat then the devices in the flat are isolated for a pre-programmed period of time. This gives plenty of opportunity to clear the area of the smoke. If after this time the device is still detecting smoke then the process will repeat.If the panel displays the warning but the silence button is not activated then the system will evacuate the building after another pre-programmed period of time. The system has the flexibility so that devices programmed into communal areas can either be programmed to evacuate the entire building or just the communal areas.
