Vadose Zone Hydrology describes the elements of the physical processes most often encountered by hydrogeologists and ground-water engineers in their vadose zone projects. It illustrates the application of soil physics to practical problems relevant to the characterization and monitoring of the vadose zone. It includes an introduction to physical processes including basic flow theory and provides examples of important field-scale processes that must be recognizable by hydrogeologists. Considerable attention is given to the concepts of recharge including how it is most accurately evaluated in the vadose zone. Field and laboratory methods for characterizing hydraulic properties in the vadose zone are also covered and case studies illustrating these methods are provided. New and emerging technologies for monitoring the vadose zone particularly for the purpose of detecting contaminants are highlighted. In the last section of the book additional case studies are presented demonstrating applications related to seepage detection landfill monitoring and soil gas investigations. This book is written from the perspective of hydrogeologists and is designed to be directly applicable and to maintain continuity and consistency between chapters. It will be an invaluable primer for environmental or geotechnical consultants regulators or students who have no prior formal academic training in unsaturated flow concepts. On board the UH8 are two heating time channels, each zone allows you to specify which time channel it should follow. 2 additional time channel connections are provided for hot water control or other auxiliary devices. On demand from any zone, a 230v output is provided to switch the relevant zone actuator, underfloor heating pump and valve. A volt free connection is supplied for the boiler, making it compatible with almost all types of boilers. A simple slide switch makes zone 8 suitable for controlling a radiator zone. When used for controlling radiators, zone 8 does not enable the underfloor heating pump, valve and boiler.Up to 4 actuators can be connected to each zone. The module has an onboard relay output driven by the fire alarm control panel. The VCMZ module is designed to provide different current limits.The HFI-CZM-01 conventional zone module is a device permitting to interface an analogue-intelligent addressable loop to a conventional detection zone. The analogue panel sees this device and all the conventional sub-system as a single addressed device on the loop. Conventional zone conditions as normal open and short circuit and alarm are detected by this module and notified to the analogue control panel by the module itself nevertheless this device is not capable of detecting the removal of a sensor from the conventional line. The conventional zone module can be powered in different ways either directly by the analogue detection loop or by an external power supply source.
