CONCERTO FOR HORN AND PIANO was commissioned by the horn player Miguel Martinez Megias. This piece is not programmatic as such, rather, the composer wanted to fully explore the capabilities of the horn as a solo voice and to enrich the repertoire forthis wonderful instrument. The composition is comprised of four parts, each of which has a unique character and creates a very special atmosphere: Sarabande, Toccata, Romance, and Finale.

Bert Appermont dug deep into Celtic music for inspiration and created a fantasy that shows off the incredible, but often overlooked, versatility of thebaritone/euphonium. Charming lyrical melodies, virtuosic runs and exciting, colourful tuttis (soloist and piano) create plenty of contrast in this exciting work. Sounds of the City : 15 Easy Pieces for Piano Solo

This album contains fifteen easy compositions for piano solo, inspired by the city: from honking cars, and dark alleys to imposing skyscrapers…one of the pieces is even based on mobile phone ringtones. The album is aimed at students who have beenplaying the piano for three to four years; the level of difficulty varies for each piece some are slightly easier, or trickier, than the others. Each work has its own specific mood and style, and where possible I have also tried to incorporatevarious techniques or characters within one composition. This music would make a suitable competition selection, as well as appropriate concert or exam pieces.
