The Edition Peters Urtext edition of Johannes Brahms’ Variation and Fugue for Piano, on a theme by Georg Friedrich Handel, Op.24. 25 stunning variations around a simple theme all imbued with Brahms distinct character andcharm. The original theme was a 1733 composition: Aria con Variazioni from the first suite in B flat major of Handel’s Suites de pieces de clavecin.

Suite In A Minor For Flute and Piano

Georg Philipp Telemann's Suite In A Minor edited for Flute and a Piano reduction of the original orchestral material, by Lionel Salter. The original instrumentation of this Suite is for Solo Flute with StringOrchestra and Harpsichord. In this version the piano combines the functions of the strings and the continuo, but the flute is called in to share some of the music which Telemann allotted to the orchestraltutti.

Brothers

Dan el Bjarnason’s Brothers is an opera in three acts. The 100-minute work, with a libretto by Kerstin Perski, is based on the screenplay of the same name by Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen. Commissioned by the DanishNational Opera / Den Jyske Opera, the opera follows a miliary officer after he returns home from the war in Afghanistan, finding that his relationship with his family has changed forever. The first performance took place on 16August 2017 at Musikhuset Aarhus. This Edition Peters product is the opera vocal score. The full score and parts are available to hire.

Trompeten, Nachts und Untergang

Ørjan Matre’s Trompeten, Nachts und Untergang is a 26-minute work for solo trumpet and choir (SSAATTBB). It is based on texts by the Austrian poet Georg Trakl and describes distant trumpet sounds, decaying castle ruins and icylakes, in the spirit of German Romanticism. Trompeten, Nachts und Untergang (Trumpets, Night and Downfall) was premiered by Norwegian trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth and the Norwegian Soloists' Choir (conductor: Grete Pedersen) atthe Ultima Oslo Contemporary Festival in September 2020. This edition is the choral score (EP 14530) of the work. The trumpet part (EP 14530a) is available separately.
