T-Bone Concerto (Complete Edition)

The T-Bone Concerto was Johan de Meij's first composition for solo instrument and symphonic band. It consists of three movements called respectively 'Rare', 'Medium' and 'Well Done'. In addition to the solo trombone, an important role has been allotted to a kind of chamber music ensemble within the band. This group introduces new thematic material and accompanies the soloist, thus creating a delightful transparant accompaniment. The ensemble consists of a double wind quintet (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 french horns and 2 bassoons) plus a cor anglais and a double bass. Parts I and II are written in the A-B-A form and allow the soloist to display both the technical and thelyrical characteristics of the instrument. Part III at first develops into a kind of neo-baroque style using the thematic material of the first and second movement, and finally leads to a triumphant finale and a virtuoso conclusion.

Kleine Geistliche Konzerte II 1639 : Small Sacred Concertos II

The "Kleine geistliche Konzerte" (Small Sacred Concertos), published in two parts in 1636 and1639, are among the best-known and well-loved compositions of Heinrich Schütz. Both parts constitute a collection of vocal pieces in abroad range of styles written for only a few voices with basso continuo. Most of the texts are in German, but some are also in Latin. The first volume presents a broad spectrum of vocal scoring, musical forms and texts: there aresolo concertos in the Italian style, traditional four-part motets, well-known Psalm texts set to music, hymns as well as mystically contemplative meditative literature. The concertos' monodic qualities and high level of virtuosity- especially in the compositions with German text - made Schütz a household name shortly after the "Kleine geistliche Konzerte" were published in print. As the works required no large ensembles, they could be performed fordifferent occasions and in various locations: particularly during the Thirty Years' War they could be heard at court, in cities or in villages but also in schools or at home.Unlike the 1963 edition of the "Kleine geistlicheKonzerte" (BA 3664, BA 3665, BA 3666) as part of the New Schütz Edition, this new volume presents the works for the first time in their original form and order. A historic-critical evaluation of all relevant sources yields newinformation regarding the composer's intentions, the printing process and the works' reception. Furthermore, the edition includes a reconstruction of an earlier version that has not been published until now. This edition is gearedtowards musicologists, as well as professional musicians and amateurs with a keen interest in early music.

Lux Futura (Light of the Future) was commissioned by the Royal Wind Orchestra Delft and is inspired by the letters ‘D-E-L-F-T’ using the letter notation system by Béla Bartók. In this ‘Delft’ cell, there is referral to the ‘Trinitas’, the bourdon bell of the Old Church in Delft, that only tolls during a funeral of a member of the Dutch Royal Family. The Delft melody switches to the ‘Agneta March’, which is a reference to the history of the Royal Wind Orchestra Delft. Further on the love theme, played by the bass instruments represents the love of the inhabitants for their city throughout space and time. In the middle movement, the beauty of the city is depicted by the coranglais (English horn) solo, as an ode to the lovely city of Delft. When performed, one can choose to use sound city samples recorded in Delft to create a truly magnificent spectacle. Suggested by 'The Twelve Brothers' by the Brothers Grimm. SYNOPSIS Act 1, Scene 1 The neighboring Kingdoms of Frohagord and Hauven are in crisis. Following a warning by his embittered cousin Drokan, Regent of Hauven, King Hjarne of Frohagord is convinced that his twelve sons are plotting to overthrow him. The twelve princes, oblivious to their father's paranoia, play in the courtyard. The enraged King threatens the safety of his sons, telling his pregnant wife, Queen Gertrude, that she must provide him with a female heir, as "only she shall wear the crown".  Gertrude calms Hjarne and they sing of the Lilies of Frohagord, magical flowers that protect the kingdom.  When Benjamin, the youngest prince, innocently plucks a lily from the garden, Hjarne flies into a mad rage and strikes Gertrude.  Drokan, observing the encounter, admits his love for Gertrude and feels "the trembling of the earth". Act 1, Scene 2 Eighteen years have passed and King Hjarne has just died. At Hjarne's funeral Frederic, Drokan, and the mourners tell of the mysterious disappearance of the King's thirteen children and the shadows that haunt the kingdom. Queen Gertrude, now mortally ill, and her daughter, Princess Lyra, enter the Royal Chapel. Gertrude is repelled by the sight of Drokan, while Frederic is drawn to Lyra. Drokan plots to usurp the Kingdom of Frohagord and Frederic dreams of the day when Lyra will be his. Act 1, Scene 3 Queen Gertrude is on her deathbed, attended by Princess Lyra.  Lyra asks her mother why she was sent away.  Gertrude has Lyra open a secret drawer where Lyra finds twelve shirts embroidered with the red Lilies of Frohagord. Gertrude reveals that the shirts belong to her missing brothers, who were sent to the forest, taking the lily bulbs with them.  Before dying, Gertrude begs Lyra to find her brothers and heal the family's wounds.  Lyra vows to find the twelve Princes.   Act 2, Scene 1 Lyra wanders through an enchanted forest, coming upon a cottage with twelve lilies in bloom. She encounters Benjamin, whom she learns is the youngest of her brothers. In the distance the older brothers are heard as they return home from a hunt.  Benjamin, who fears that his brothers will seek revenge against Lyra, hides her. After his brothers assure him that they will do no harm, Benjamin reveals Lyra, much to the joy of all. Preparing for a celebratory feast, Lyra cuts the red lilies, unintentionally casting a spell that transforms her brothers into ravens. She is devastated by her tragic mistake. Act 2, Scene 2 Queen Gertrude appears as an apparition and tells Lyra that in order for her brothers to return to human form, she must remain mute for seven years. Act 2, Scene 3 Almost seven years have passed, and Frederic's search for Lyra is rewarded. A great wedding celebration is planned by the people of Hauven. Spartacus

Spartacus is a "Symphonic Tone Poem" with 3 joints. Each section has its own melodical materials, however: in the final movement the main theme from the second section returns in a 'grandioso'-tutti. The last bar but one recaptures the 'oriental' atmosphere of the very beginning. The first section (= from the beginning till J) builds up a climax by repeating and accumulating some melodical and rhythmical stuctures. The oriental character of the melodical fragments refers to the origin of the Roman slaves. The second section evokes the love between Spartacus and his loveby giving a peaceful atmosphere. The mean theme (presented the first time at letter L) has a broad andwide character and refers slightly to filmmusic. In this part of the composition, a special attention is given to the orchestration. The final section is more agressive and martial and refers to the revolt of the slaves against the Roman oppressors. In the middle of this movement, an accumulation of the 12 tones symbolizes the crucifixion of the slaves: the english horn resumes partly the cadenza of the flute (at letter J), as if he wants to show again the eternal love between Spartacus and his love a very last time ... The theme at the third bar of letter T is actually based on the 2nd theme of this section (which starts at the fifth bar of letter R), but has been worked out rhytmically.

Som med alla Jet-gitarrer har den en silkeslen Roasted Maple-hals fastskruvad i en basträkropp. JT350 har dessutom uppgraderats med Alnico magnetpickuper, låsande tuningmaskiner och en plattlös halsskarv, funktioner som vanligtvis ses på gitarrer som kostar betydligt mer. Benmuttern tar ut varje vibration ur strängarna, medan 3 Chrome Sadel Bridge resulterar i autentisk ton. Med en lätt och resonant Basswood-kropp, i kombination med en Roasted Canadian Maple-hals/greppbräda, får Jet JT-350 en mycket bra start. Den här gitarren har verkligen ett utseende att dö för, med en rik glansig finish som visar upp Butterscotch-kroppen och den rostade halsen till full effekt. Räfflade platta knoppar ger den en vintage-look som kompletterar den karamellfärgade nyansen i halsen och det klassiska svarta valskyddet. När det gäller spelergonomi är JT-350 omedelbart bekväm för den moderna gitarristen, med en modern "C"-formad halsprofil och greppbräda med en radie på 9,5 tum. Jet har gått till extra längder för att förbättra spelkomforten, med en extra kontur lagt till underkroppens cutaway för att underlätta rörelsen i övre bandet, samt en plåtlös halshäl. Hårdvarumässigt är låstunrarna en fantastisk funktion till priset, medan en fast brygga med tre kromade sadlar ger autentisk teleton och känsla. Benmuttern ser till att alla vibrationer från strängarna överförs till de två Alnico single-coil pickuperna. Dessa styrs via volym/tonknappar och 3-vägs switchlayout. Jet JT-350 i Butterscotch överträffar betydligt sin prisklass när det gäller funktioner och specifikationer.
